Universal Family Connection, Inc. (UFC) is a grassroots organization serving the south and west regions of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, that was founded by Dr. Lorraine Broyls in 1976 and has been officially incorporated by the State of Illinois as a not-for-profit since 1980. Universal Family Connection, Inc.'s spectrum of programs is designed to assess the needs of the clients, provide intervention services and coordinate community services necessary to resolve issues threatening the children's lives and the family unit as a whole. We offer a wide variety of individual and family counseling, targeted case management, and support services. We provide the community with a comprehensive array of services that include family reunification and stabilization programs, domestic violence prevention and survivor treatment, child abuse prevention and counseling programs, educational and employment programs and various volunteer and training initiatives. Demographics UFC serves the families as a unit and individuals of all backgrounds in our community. Our clients are typically overwhelmingly below the federal poverty line. We have various programs serving various populations from infants to pregnant and parenting teens to senior citizens.
